Maximilian Hecker is a nomad between the worlds - between Asia, where his upcoming album "One Day" is already released and where thousands hystrical teenager fall in love with him, and good old Europe, where he got stuck in the status of a manqué genius and a lost soul. "Misery", his new Single definitely puts him back on the track, to where he started once, with his unique debut album "Infinite Love Songs", When Hecker advanced to one of the most promising pop artists of the continent. Hecker has set up a whole band with Johannes Feige (Guit), Sebastian Vogel (Bass) and Snorre Schwarz (Dr), that enables him to express his deep love to artists like Oasis, Nick Drake or Richard Ashcroft. Together with his longtime producer Guy Sternberg, they produced a warm and analog sound, the perfect foundation for his very own impulse for making music: „I am from (the german small town) Bünde, and that's just how I feel. I'm a stiff guy. My music is the exact opposite of Bünde. Narrowness turns to scope, depression turns to megalomania.“ Hecker sets intense feeling to music, feelings he is lacking in his daily life. „Fellow sufferers cut their arms to make themselves feel anything – I play music instead.“ Misery, the forerunner for the album "One Day" you have to take as a lived call for denudation and for radical love. At least, it´s a wonderfull classic popsong.
Maximilian Hecker is smart enough to release a very special cover version of the Elvis evergreen "Always On My Mind" that offers more than just another weak Elvis.
